Prince Albert Road

Constraints became the stimulus for a 200 sq metre, semi-subterranean extension to a Grade II listed house overlooking Regent’s Park. Three new living rooms are invisible from the street and wrap around a mature lime tree. They move from a high, glassy garden room – a contemporary orangery - past an internal dance studio, to a television room. This has a glass corner that leads to a terrace with canal frontage. Car parking is maintained above the new structure, iroko cladding forms an appropriate garden enclosure and internal materials are warm, evocative and elemental. Shortlisted for the 2017 RIBA Awards
