Godolphin Road

The 19th century terrace houses that encircle Central London are fertile ground for upgrading to suit new lives. In this case the upper level layouts were retained and refitted and a new top floor constructed. The lower ground floor is now an open living, dining, kitchen and utility space. The relative lowness of the ceiling is alleviated by raising the rear glass wall. This admits maximum natural light and by turning the external brickwork inside, adds texture and increases connection to the garden.
